Founded and Created

by Shayla N. Atkins

Leadership Redefined is not just a professional event, it’s personal for her.

Shayla N. Atkins, a dynamic leader and former Fortune 500 executive, founded this conference because she’s lived the realities so many women face.

As a naturally introverted black woman in Fortune 500 leadership, she was taught to:

-Code-switch her communication style in every meeting

-Hide aspects of her appearance and heritage to "fit" the leadership mold

-Emulate extroverted traits until she was exhausted and burned out

-Prove her worth twice as hard for half the recognition

It was working, until it stopped working; in middle management, but then everything froze, including her career and health. Then the growing realization that if she felt this way, thousands of other women leaders did too.

The turning point came when Shayla decided to lead authentically instead of people pleasing. She aligned her leadership with her values, built genuine relationships, and leveraged her natural strengths. Not only did her results improve and her energy returned.

She rose to become a global senior leader, proving that leadership success doesn’t require sacrificing authenticity.

That's when she realized: What if women didn't have to choose between authenticity and advancement? What if the problem wasn't women's leadership style, but the outdated standards measuring it?

Now, Shayla is on a mission to help other women do the same.

As the visionary CEO of The Atkins Impact Consulting Firm, Shayla has a proven track record of transforming organizational cultures and equipping leaders to deliver exceptional business results. Known for her ability to blend data-driven insights with human-centered strategies, she has helped companies in industries like construction, manufacturing, and oil and gas reduce turnover, improve productivity, boost operational excellence and foster sustainable growth.
